Despite the wardrobe advisory that was said to have been circulated among attendees to this year’s Grammy awards, suggesting that “buttocks and breasts are adequately covered” and flagging that “thong-type costumes are problematic”, the Grammy’s did not disappoint, on both the award and fashion fronts.
2013 marked the 55th awards ceremony honouring musicians with powerhouse women getting the recognition they deserve. Adele and Beyoncé received applause for their get-up and their talent, while stars like Rihanna, Katy Perry and Florence Welch made a statement on the red carpet with their uber glamorous gowns – and other than a slight fashion faux pas from Katy Perry – there was barely a side-boob in sight!

We particularly loved Beyonce’s fashion-forward monochrome palette, whilst Adele and Rihanna plumped for two very different, but equally flattering, red dresses.
Florence Welch, of Florence and the Machine, made like a mermaid in a skin tight, shimmering emerald green dress with oversized rhinestones, whilst Taylor Swift, opted for her signature virginal white dress, this time with a grecian pleated update. Pop princess Katy Perry, turned her mint green dress into something of a flesh-flashing nightmare – as she bared just a little too much cleavage to be considered classy.
Jennifer Lopez looked fashion-fierce pairing a one-shouldered thigh-skimming dress with a tight top knot. Carrie Underwood took a more classic red carpet route by way of a black lace bustier dress, whilst Justin Timberlake proved why his new Suit & Tie single is doing so well, showcasing his personal styling by way of a tailored tuxedo and matching monochrome accessories.
