If you have been training for marathons that keep getting cancelled, this year you can get your running shoes back on and join other people, yes other people, to run, swim and cycle around the UK again safely. Here are some of the events that will be going ahead this year, no more couch to 5K, this time you can run further than around the block, a summer to look forward to again.
ASICS London 10K: 25 Jul – London’s Greatest Summer Celebration of Running. The fast-paced, flat 10km route takes runners on a tour through the best of London’s Westminster, racing past the Capital’s most iconic and historical landmarks such as Big Ben, the London Eye and River Thames.
With live bands and DJs on route, cheering fans, and post-race festivities in central London, this summer celebration of running is going to be really popular.
London Triathlon: 7-8 August – The World’s Greatest City-Centre Triathlon
Every year, thousands of people come to our iconic capital city to join our community of incredible triathletes taking on the challenge of the London Triathlon. The event takes place at the ExCel Centre, Royal Victoria Dock and has a unique urban route, giving participants the chance to swim, bike and run past London’s world-famous landmarks.
London Duathlon: 5 September – Run-Bike-Run in Richmond Park at the World’s Largest Duathlon. The London Duathlon, the UK’s most stunning run-bike-run event, takes place in beautifully scenic Richmond Park. There are four different distances or events for you to choose from including a half duathlon, full duathlon, ultra-duathlon or a more sociable team challenge, the duathlon relay
Blenheim Palace Triathlon: 11-12 September – The UK’s Most Stunning Triathlon
Etape Calendonia: 19 September – The UK’s Original Closed-Road Sportive in the Scottish Highlands
Hackney Half: 26 September – London’s Largest and Most Vibrant Half Marathon
Oxford Half: 17 October – Iconic Half Marathon in Oxford’s Historic City Centre
