We don’t have to justify our love for Diane Kruger, simple because this shot says it all. The glowing polished skin, subtle hint of tan, arched eyebrows and natural lip, but what we really love is the modern undone, updo. Set against the pure glamour of her blue Giambattista Valli asymmetrical dress Diane’s hairdresser for the opening night of the Cannes Film Festival, Perrine Rougemont, explained, “the look was just a little undone, sophisticated and classic with a modern feel – but not too perfect to add interest”.
To recreate Diane’s imperfect high topknot, Perrine started by applying John Frieda’s Luxurious Volume Thickening Blow Dry Lotion £5.59 to the roots of Diane’s damp, towel dried hair, to add texture before blowdrying.
Once dry, extra volume was added through soft back combing around the root area
Diane’s hair was then swept into a ponytail. Perrine, added some further gentle backcombing to the ponytail before looping the pony upwards and securing into a small but modern bun at the base of the ponytail. The mid lengths and ends were left out so that they could be looped back down over the bun, before being secure loosely with fine pins.
For the finishing touch, Perrine smoothed John Frieda’s Sheer Blonde Gleam Crème Instant Silkener £4.89 through the ends before wrapping them around the hair band and securing.
The whole look was held in place with a fine misting of John Frieda Sheer Blonde Crystal Hold Shape & Shimmer Hairspray £4.89
