Whilst speculation surrounding the Olympic Closing Ceremony has taken a bit of a backseat in light of the Olympic events, the most recent issue of British Vogue might offer the biggest clue yet as to the part that Brit models, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Lily Cole and Jourdan Dunn (to name a few) will play.
For the September issue, and to mark the event in collaboration with the British Fashion Council, Vogue has commissioned Nick Knight to shoot all of the models that are to feature in the Closing Ceremony for the Midas Touch editorial. Swathed in gold British-designed dresses by the likes of Sarah Burton, Christopher Kane, Erdem, Vivienne Westwood and Jonathan Saunders. Oh and just in case you were interested. . . David Gandy also features, dressed in a slick, and of course, gold Paul Smith suit.
Although we can’t imagine the models will be sporting the exact same golden pieces, we’d love to see them in equally gilded designs for the Olympic Closing Ceremony, but until that time, it seems we’ll just have to continue to speculate.
