This morning, The British Fashion Council have announced the shortlist for the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund for 2013.

Shortlisted designers are;
Roksanda Ilincic, Mary Katrantzou, Nicholas Kirkwood, Peter Pilotto and Emilia Wickstead
Representing the best of London’s cutting edge and thriving fashion talent, across both ready-to-wear and accessory designs, the nominated designers are considered in the best position to develop into global fashion brands.

Editor of British Vogue and Chair of the Fund Committee, Alexandra Shulman commented,
“We have an incredibly strong short list of contenders for the fund. It is wonderful to see the impressive talent coming out of London that has reached a stage in their business where they can qualify for the prize.”

The winner will be announced on the 29th January with one designer receiving a bespoke, high level mentoring support programme for a twelve month period, plus a £200, 000 grant to provide the necessary infrastructure to take their label to the next stage.
