Just in case you don’t know, there really was a Burt. He had a backyard in Maine where he kept his bees, and from that modest back garden sprang Burt’s Bees. Of course the company has expanded a little now, but the natural ethos behind it remains the same. There are no petrochemicals, phthalates, parabensor sodium lauryl sulfates or any other scary looking chemical word. And they certainly don’t test on animals. So they’re free of any form of guilt factor.

In fact, their new range of lip products are 100% natural. First up? The Lip Gloss (£8.99). They are infused with moisturising botanical oils and beeswax, and come in 12 different shades. Rosy Dawn is a blushing pink favourite, whilst Autumn Haze is a subtle nude shade that fits in well to this season’s beauty trends.

The Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer (£5.99) was a huge success when it first launched, and this time it’s back with even more nourishing ingrediends – shea butter, a fruit seed oil blend, and peppermint oil – as well as five new shades – Cherry, Plum, Strawberry, Apricot and Grapefruit. I have tried the Strawberry shade, and it’s gone straight into my every-day makeup bag. It’s made the grade, and that’s a big deal.

The Lip Shine (£6.99) is here again too, and seems to be the product that is jam packed with as many nourishing components as possible. We’ve got an apricot kernel wax blend, sunflowers, beeswax, shea and cocoa butters, as well as a naturally sweet apricot fragrance.

And then there’s the classic Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm (£5.99), perhaps the most subtle of all the Burt’s Bees Lip Products. It’s pretty much a salve, with buildable colour that’s made up of shea butter, beeswax and other floral waxes such as ylang yland and jasmine. All they need is a lip liner, and they’ve pretty much covered your every lip needs in an entirely natural and nourishing way.
Is anyone else craving honey right now?
