Delfina Delettrez Fendi is truly fashion aristocracy. The fourth generation of the female Fendi dynasty, it’s no surprise that she’s grown up to become one of the most cutting-edge jewelry designers in the fashion industry. Her mother, Silvia Venturini is the creative director of accessories for Fendi, following in the footsteps of Delfina’s great-grandmother Adele, and grandmother Anna. However, she always had a determination to find success for herself without the assistance of the Fendi name. Honestly, it isn’t surprising, as it’s obvious that strength, independence, and of course, style, run in the genes of the Fendi women.
After receiving an internship with Chanel soon after graduating, the experience solidified her desire to pursue design as a career. Since 2007, she’s been creating unique, statement pieces for the strong, distinctive woman that wants to stand out. She says of her design process, “I look at all materials with interest. Anything can become a fantastic piece mixed with a beautiful stone. I’m interested in finding unconventional materials that are not necessarily common in jewelry and mixing them with classic materials such as silver and gold.” The pieces, that include everything from faces, to bees, to lightening bolts have been worn by some of the world’s most famous, beautiful women including Beyoncé, Madonna, Taylor Swift, and Catherine Deneuve. No matter whose ear, neck, wrist, or finger her designs end up on, there is a distinct flair to every piece, no matter how different, making it instantly recognizable as a Delfina Delettrez design. As she puts it, “Even if they are very different from each other, I kind of know how to Delfinise them up.”
