Flat Iron Steak was originally a pop-up steak restaurant that…well…popped up just above Shoreditch’s Owl & Pussycat pub, and now they’ve bagged a full-time spot on Beak St in London’s Soho.
Everything about it is fuss-free. It’s a one item menu, steak obviously, with multiple side options, and a selection of desserts just in case you have space.

Of course there’s a no booking policy. It seems to be the mark of somewhere cool and hip nowadays, but we’re assured a little wait is worth it, especially if you manage to hit happy hour at the bar whilst you wait with your buzzer.
Everything about the place is fairly male-orientated, so it’s a reasonably priced (the steaks are £10) yet impressive option to throw out for a surprise date, to treat your favourite meat-eating man. The steaks arrive on wooden blocks, and move over cerated knives, you’re given cleavers to make your way through your meal.
