So last time power-couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were on screen together; they were destructing their home and trying to kill one another – in an extremely sexy manner might I add. It was the film they fell in love in after all. Well, ten years later they have hit the big screen again in By The Sea, which is also written by Jolie herself – ironically, this time as a couple with a marriage crumbling underneath them.

They play a married couple in the mid-1970’s travelling through France, and going to a French resort to try and salvage a sinking marriage. Although the setting may be beautiful; it is not what it seems, and judging by the trailer it involves a whole lot of emotion and sadness. In re-examining their relationship, is there something dark and sinister underneath?

This will be the first time that Jolie has self-directed on screen, and her performance is set to be an impressive one. She described By the Sea as ‘an art film’ to Vanity Fair, saying it’s “the kind of movie that I like to see but not something I’m usually cast in.” She also called it her “hardest film”.

We are very intrigued to see this one…
By The Sea comes to UK cinemas on 11th December.
