We all know what they say – an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but have you heard the phrase a banana a day keeps the pain away?

We’ve been doing some digging and here are 9 reasons why bananas are not just good for monkeys…

1. High in tryptophan, bananas help with the production or serotonin, which fights depression.
2. Helps relieve muscle cramps – great to eat pre and post workout.
3. Bananas contain calcium which helps build strong bones.
4. Packed with vitamin B-6, bananas help reduce swelling, protect against type II diabetes, aid weight loss, strengthen the nervous system, and help with the production of white blood cells.
5. Helps with anemia as they contain iron.
6. High in potassium and low in salt, bananas are a great way to lower blood sugar.
7. Bananas are a natural antacid, providing relief from acid reflux and heartburn.
8. Banana can cool the body temperature down, perfect natural remedy to helping with fever.
9. Banana’s can help normalise bowel movement.

2 Bananas

1 Cup of Strawberries

1(8 ounce) Container Vanilla Yogurt

3/4 Cup of Milk

 

Banana Blast

1/2 Teas Spoon of Vanilla Extract

Green Mojito Smoothie
