Too Faced is a makeup brand founded in the 90’s by Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson. The pair were fed up of dark and ‘serious’ makeup, and wanted to create something inspiring which brought back femininity. Enter Too Faced, inspired by their love for Paris and girliness. The brands founders believe that makeup gives you freedom and encourages confidence – “it’s a mood booster and a powerful ally”.
I have been using the same foundation brand for two years now, so it was a bit of a mental task switching and trying out something new, but what the heck! Hannah recommended me to try out the Too Faced Born This Way foundation, it is an oil-free foundation and even though it provides medium-to-full coverage, it blends really well and left a natural glow and radiance to my complexion.
The foundation is infused with coconut water which helps hydrate the skin, so don’t worry if you forget to moisturise your face in the morning, the foundation will do that for you nicely. The alpine rose is what helped brighten up my skin and give it the natural glow. This flower grows at altitudes of up to 3,2000m, which means it has adapted to the cold, UV and dryness. This is great for skin as it helps fight against environmental stress, especially here in the UK where the weather can be extremely unpredictable, it’s reassuring you have a trusty product to look after your skin. Finally the hyaluronic acid helps to smooth over the skin and give it a youthful appearance, and a fun fact about the substance is that it has the unique ability to attract and retain more than 1,000 times of its weight in water, which is more than any other biological substance.
Too Faced foundation is available in 12 different shades, so you can easily find the right shade for you. Personally, I have been using ‘Sand’ and although this looks like a very dark shade it blends extremely well, so I wouldn’t shy away from going for a shade darker as it won’t leave you looking like a tangerine, thankfully! Instead it will provide a subtle natural glow to warm up your skin, especially now that autumn has arrived.
