The perfect makeup collection for this time of year – Equinox signifies ‘a desert at night’ taking inspiration from starry skies, constellations of the universe above; making this collection literally sparkle with magic.
The shimmering textures of this collection is just completely inviting, and all products can be used together just works beautifully. I have visions just looking at this collection; a deep blood red lip, with a smokey eye with glints of gold and feathery lashes. Think darkness with flashes of light, think mystic stars amongst a tranquil dark sky…
The collection consists of their handmade and cruelty-free false volumous lashes, with an eyeshadow palette to complement consisting of four dazzling bold and bare irridescent shades. The gold liquid formula isn’t a lipgloss; it is actually a liquid gold formula for adorning your eye makeup with glistens of gold either alone or as a sparkling layer on top of eyeshadow. The deep blood red lipstick is enriched with Vitamin E and a strong colour payoff, and lastly their nail varnish; a golden, pearlescent, champagne-oyster shade.
Illamasqua Creative Director and Makeup Artist Alex Box describes the inspiration behind the collection; “Equinox is a desert princess. A luminous, nomadic beauty adorned in resplendent broken golds, lustrous pigments, deep burnished hues and sparkling accents, which are inspired by the depth and mystery of the deserts endless canopy of stars.”
