Ariana appears to be on a feminist roll, and her fans are speaking out to congratulate her. Now that her ‘doughnut-licking’ incident has finally been put behind her (•sigh of relief everyone•), her attempts to turn her reputation around are admirable, she is now being called an ‘amazing role model for young women today’.

Starting the week by showing support for her fellow female superstars Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez, she continued this trend of women empowerment by speaking out on twitter, with the help of Mom Joan, about magazine double standards in a series of tweets. It began with Ariana’s mom sharing two pictures of magazine newsstands. Whilst on one side, it said “Men’s Interests,” showing magazines like Forbes and Robb Report, the section next to it was labeled “Women’s Interests” and was filled with tabloids. Ariana jumped in with the following tweet: “oh! so women are only interested in tabloids & if I want to read about cars, business, science I have to go to the MEN’S section?”.
But Ariana didn’t stop there! She went on to say “and I know mannnnnnnny men who are going to the magazine section for a Cosmo or Vogue or an Elle!” – we agree Ariana, we agree.

Recently, Target announced that they would remove all gender based labels on toys and Disney joined by agreeing to take boys and girls labels off their halloween costumes. Many would agree, its time magazines jumped on the bandwagon and removed outdated labels as well.

Ariana also used her Instagram to show her support for Planned Parenthood. On International Women’s Day, Grande took a moment to praise women who support one another taking to Instagram to say “Women need to be educated, healthy, and empowered”.
I think its fair to say, Ariana Grande is a feminist boss and I hope women in the industry join her to keep up the inspiring work!
