These days theres an app for just about anything really, whether you’re looking to find productive tools, good books, great games; even finding love! It’s crazy what you can do with your phone but there are some amazing apps to help with your every day life tasks.
The beginning of a new year is the time we’re all making our resolutions, making a fresh and healthy start to a good year ahead. We did the research and tested out some health/fitness apps – but not just any old fitness apps. We wanted to concentrate on something that offered more to your general wellbeing. So we went on the hunt for some of the best Wellness Apps around to keep both your body and mind in top form; and here are our faves…

Habitica
Stay motivated, but in the form of a game. This one is great for you procrastinators out there – you can play a game but be useful at the same time. How it works is you basically input your life into the game; including daily goals, your to-do lists – and you create your custom avatar too. You have to check off your tasks to level-up and unlock some pretty cool levels and features. Accomplishing tasks got fun.
Gymaholic
This clever app keeps track of your fitness activity, generates workouts for you and keeps a progress report in your transformation to you keep photos of your body change. Talk about staying motivated. They will even provide you with some snazzy statistics of your database and progress for a completely personalised approach.
Comes in an Apple Watch mode too.
7 Minute Workout (£2.29)
The ‘7 minute workout’ has become quite a popular form of exercise, as it proves the quickest, most efficient way of losing weight and toning up (which is what we all want). This is a good one for fitness newbies too, because of its simple and effective results… plus you don’t need to join a gym to do a High Intensity Interval Training workout either.
This app will give you all the right information and how-to’s on the best 7-min workouts that you need; with full video, audio, image and text instructions. Who needs a personal trainer? It even keeps track of your progress along the way to keep you motivated. Expect it to be hard, fast but over quickly. Nice.
iCouch CBT (£2.29)
Therapy right in your pocket, iCouch CBT provides Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to keep track of your thinking, analyse your emotions and change your outlook. CBT is a type of therapy that helps you solve problems by focusing on changing your thought process when faced with situations you find difficult. iCouch is totally customised to you; and allows you to enter your thought, feelings and lead you in the right direction.
Lumosity
Lumosity is the brain-workout of the app world. Challenge your memory, attention and more with their daily training program – in the form of fun games, of course. This app was put together by a clever team of scientists who want to help keep your brain in check. The daily workouts will keep a track of your progress so you can compare and see where you have improved your brain skills – which we think is invaluable. Yes please.
