After a tumultuous past year, Hedi Slimane has officially left Saint Laurent and, according to social media, it was not a happy ending. The company’s Instagram (@ysl) has deleted every single picture over the last four years. Silmane was a huge asset to the company, doubling its sales and producing consistent trendy, fashionable pieces. Yet it only took two days to replace him with Anthony Vaccarello.
Vaccarello’s portrait is currently the only photo featured on the Instagram.
Many Instagram commenters are angry with their decision to wipe the slate clean, how it appears to mimic that of ‘an angry ex-girlfriend deleting photos of a past boyfriend’.
What is to become of the company without Slimane is to be determined, but it seems they are ready for a clean start that only Vaccarello can fill…
