I think plenty of us aren’t afraid to admit that Ruby Rose falls into our girl crush category, whether we’re gay or straight – her androgynous gender-bending style and bravery to be exactly who she wants to be is so admirable and frankly, she’s hot stuff.
We can only describe her as damn cool, and someone whose work ethic and talent is something we’re proud to see as a celebrity and role model. If Ruby doesn’t inspire people to listen to their own desires and be true to themselves – we don’t know who will. Who is Ruby Rose? The actress, model and DJ saw her unofficial debut from her character Stella in the Netflix series, Orange Is The New Black last year. Ruby has moved onto her most recent project of becoming the face for Urban Decay Makeup.
The Australian beauty recently caught up with Galore Magazine and oozed sexiness in a smoking-hot shoot photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth; she also chatted about pop culture, gender fluidity, being a Tumblr cult favourite and who HER ultimate girl crush is…
Ruby is a fan of keeping a fit lifestyle; “I am very healthy and treat my body very well. I think being strong is sexy. Being fit is important for my brain health and keeping me mentally focused.”
On her female crush: “It’s a really tough one between Madonna and Angelina Jolie—both Angelina during Girl, Interrupted times and now and forever and ever. And Madonna too—but Madonna especially when she did the “Erotica”-era Sex book. She was such an empowered feminist icon, and the way she’s reinvented herself throughout her entire career has been mesmerising to me. Oh, and Jennifer Lawrence, but who doesn’t?”
On her sexuality: “I’m one of those people who feels everybody is somewhere on the spectrum. I don’t think it needs to be labeled. Love is about the person.”
