Maroon 5 frontman and reigning “Sexiest Man Alive” Adam Levine is swapping concert stages for the silver screen as one of the stars of the upcoming film Begin Again. The romantic comedy features Levine as a rising rock star who dumps his singer-songwriter girlfriend, played by Keira Knightley, right after they move to New York to pursue their musical careers together (but how could anyone possibly want to break up with the always-gorgeous Knightley?). Directed by John Carney, Begin Again boasts a top-billed cast including Mark Ruffalo, James Corden, Hailee Steinfeld and even quirky musician Cee-lo Green! Levine’s role in the film sees him channelling his natural talents as a musician, especially since he sings on camera. Begin Again has been compared to musical film Once, which was recently turned into a Broadway musical. If Begin Again follows the same trajectory, we think Adam Levine should try his hand at a new career opportunity by reprising his role in the movie’s stage adaptation! Fingers crossed.
Begin Again marks Levine’s first foray into the movie industry, but it isn’t the first time he has channeled his acting side. In 2012, he appeared as a recurring character on the television show American Horror Story: Asylum as Leo Morrison, a newlywed photographer on honeymoon with his wife, played by Jenna Dewan-Tatum (who is married in real life to the super sexy Channing Tatum!). Levine said in an interview that he accepted the role offer because “it sounded hysterical, funny, dark and cool and right up my alley.” With several roles under his belt now, it sounds like acting is becoming a trend for him…and we can’t argue with wanting to see more of him on the big or little screens.
Things are pretty busy for Levine these days. He’s currently working as a judge/coach on The Voice in the U.S., a position he’s held every season since the show began in 2011. And then, of course, there’s his busy personal life: Levine got engaged to on-again, off-again Victoria’s Secret model girlfriend Behati Prinsloo last July. We haven’t heard any indication of when the wedding will be held, but with an A-list affair like the wedding is certain to be, there has to be a ton of planning going on behind the scenes!

– He has a golden retriever named Frankie.
– Even though he appeared in several episodes of American Horror Story: Asylum, Levine didn’t watch any of them because he said films and TV shows in the horror genre are “just so weird and disturbing.”
– His band Maroon 5’s debut album “Songs About Jane” was — you guessed it — comprised of songs Levine wrote about Jane, his ex-girlfriend.
– He loves yoga so much that when his band is on tour, they bring along a yoga instructor and have sessions before every concert.
– He was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder as a teenager, and often speaks about his use of medicine to control it.
