There’s been a change to the usual Paris Fashion Week schedule as Sarah Burton, the label’s creative director, announced today that rather than the usual Alexander McQueen catwalk theatrics, the brand will be holding a small private presentation instead.
Burton, who is currently pregnant with twins and on maternity leave, will remain in London rather than join the 100 or so press that have been invited to an intimate presentation to view the collection in central Paris on 5th March.
Arguably the most impressive, creative and crazy of all the catwalk shows, Alexander McQueen’s showcase will return to business-as-usual for the Spring Summer 2014 collection.
But whilst, the McQueen show will undoubtedly be missed, in its place we’ll be looking forward to fiery popstrel Rihanna’s LFW debut in collaboration with high street chain River Island. And even more exciting, Tom Ford’s first ever London showcase.
