When people ask me who my style icons are and who I follow on Instagram, they’re usually inquiring about celebs. But…I don’t follow many celebrities for fashion tips and influence. I follow them out of pure curiosity and possible laughs. Instead, I follow bloggers who have similar style to myself and style of which I wish to acquire. As a blogger myself, I find it important that discoveries of new bloggers and fashion lines and fashion experts are frequent.
I found my three favorite bloggers on Instagram: Aimee Song (songofstyle), Julie Sarinana (sincerelyjules), and Arielle Charnas (somethingnavy).

Aimee Song has mastered the feminine splash to masculine pieces. She often wears boyfriend jeans and baggy blazers with strappy sandals or heels and a mix of jewellry. Her blog, Song of Style, is simple to navigate with plenty of pictures and helpful DIYs. Her sister Dani Song is a blogger as well. Their styles differ greatly but they collaborated to create Two Songs, which is a line of graphic tees and sweatshirts.

I just recently stumbled upon Julie Sarinana’s Instagram. She uses her blog and Instagram as a “visual diary” of her travels and style. Sarinana has her own clothing collection of comfy tees and sweatshirts and a few choices of shorts and outerwear. I chose this picture in particular to show that bandanas are resurfacing, so go get one!

Arielle Charnas lives in New York and comes from a family involved in the fashion industry. I’ve followed SomethingNavy for quite a while now and even follow Charnas on Snapchat. Her life is as glamorous as you could imagine. She struts New York sidewalks in Louboutin, Valentino, Manola Blahnik, Stella McCartney and Missguided which is a recent partnership for the blogger. She has precious Cavalier King Charles named Dylan with whom she takes loads of pictures.
And now, I shall introduce myself! My name is Madeline Nave from Oklahoma, USA. I am interning with Beauty and the Dirt for two months this summer and oh so excited to be here in London! I hope to live in a fashion capital once I graduate from the University of Kansas. I have a large interest in fashion journalism. I started blogging in 2013 as a creative outlet. I blog to express my views of fashion, my outfits, and to work on my grammar and flow of words. I highly enjoy reading and I believe words can create works of art. I look forward to writing more for Beauty and the Dirt! Feel free to find me on Instagram by searching ‘madelinenave.’
