What am I wearing this summer? The most beautiful fragrance that has an effortless, light and clean aroma. This L’Artisan Parfumeur Cologne has been created as an echo to the work of Claude Monet: Au Bord de l’Eau. A mist of sparkling citrus, resting on green and woody undertones. Inspired by the signature work of Claude Monet, this perfume uses raw olfactive materials as if they were paint pigments. Like Monet’s masterpiece, they alternate between the realism of the zest of bergamot and lemon- its freshness is mixed with the petals of the bitter orange and the more complex texture nestled below.
The artist suggests, without defining, the contours of houses that are reflected in the water. To the hesperidia mist, Fabrice Pellegrin has added rosemary, an identifiable green note, violet and soft musk.
The AP bottles are so aesthetically pleasing, I love the heaviness of the chunky but elegant bottle in my hands and they look so lovely on your bathroom shelf. You definitely feel inspired to start a collection, my other favourites are; Histoire D’Oranges and the more recently launched Coleur Vanille.
L’Artisan Parfumeur Coleur Vanille
This Perfume is an invitation to a dream, a poem of possibilities. For the master perfumer, exquisite raw botanicals not only suggest the place where they are grown, but also the feeling that place evokes. Especially the feeling of longing for that place when you’re far away. Perfumer Aliénor Massenet was leafing through an atlas when she suddenly visualised sailing off the fabled island of Madagascar. The trade winds swelling with sensual hints of the land’s astonishing bounty. The heat of the sun amplifying the fantasy.
“The images started to take shape. I could smell the aroma of a vanilla pod, subtly bathed in bergamot, everlasting, benzoin and tolu balm, and gently caressed by a salty sea breeze with a dash of iodine.
The result is a beautiful summer fragrance that kisses summer skin and seems to blend with its warmth to create the smell of a long day at the beach with its salty scent. It’s not a traditional sweet vanilla, it’s much more elegant and grown up, Coleur Vanille is a gorgeous new perfume and am sure will be a favourite for many.
