Beauty squads from all over the world descended upon London this week. And whilst they were busying themselves tending to models’ hair, makeup, skin, nails and toes, a whole host of backstage beauty insiders were just as busy capturing the behind-the-scenes happenings and new season showcase products.
And whilst we’re yet to venture into this season’s spring summer trends, because quite frankly it still very much feels mid-winter to us, we’re already desperate to get a head start (or at least a heads’ up) on what’s what for autumn winter 2013.

We previously highlighted the wonder that is the MAC Forecast Palette. For Autumn Winter 2013, the six-part palette has had a gorgeously gothic update with the addition of smoky greys, indigos, khaki and a vampish purple, plus a couple of more subtle tan tones.

At Narciso Rodriguez, make up artist Dick Page showcased the brand new shade of Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick, Harmony, a subtle sheeny red which he described as “your own lip colour but better”.

Meanwhile, backstage at Antipodium and Paul Smith, models’ looked distinctively glossier thanks to yet another fresh-from-the-lab MAC Cosmetics beauty product; a wet-look gloss that was daubed across the lids of models in sheeny shades of Mother of Pearl and Black Sea.

Nail polish lovers take note of this dirty lavender-dove grey shade of polish courtesy of manicure marvel Jin Soon. Applied to models nails at the Vera Wang show in New York, the Auspicious shade, was so aptly named by Jamie Bochert. We predict a whole host of copy-cat colourways come autumn.

Make up maestro Charlotte Tilbury used these exclusive, sumptuously coloured MAC creams to create the look at Sass & Bide.

We couldn’t be more excited having spotted that the fabulous Sunday Riley range of skin and bodycare has expanded into make up. As used by Val Garland at Preen, we can’t wait to get our hands on these Effortless Breathable Tinted Primers and transluscent loose powders.

Unlike any make up brush we’ve ever seen before, these new brushes, courtesy of MAC Cosmetics were spotted backstage at Tory Burch. We’d love to pretend we know what or how they’d be used, our current predictions are for contouring with powders – although that little one looks like it could be ideal for a sweep of eyebrow powder! We’d love to know if you have any brighter ideas!
Now all you have to do is wait, patiently if you can, for the launch dates.
