When it comes to eyewear Bobbi Brown reigns supreme.
I like their mascara, love their eye pencils and their Long-Wear Cream Shadow Sticks are my constant accomplices.
I am now obsessed with the Smokey Nudes collection, the eye palette of distinction. There are so many things I love about it. For a start I love a palette where you can use all the colours not just some. You can always tell a well-loved palette when all the shades diminish at the same time like a well-worn teddy bear.
In the Bobbi Brown Smokey Nudes Palette (£48.00) there are eight shades. It is a two-level palette that falls back into itself and fits neatly in the make-up purse. You get matte and you get sparkle. You get a beigey pinks and tawny greys. You get a silvery brown, a putty white and black.
You can go from slightly smokey to super smokey, from day to night, from night to breakfast. It is the eye palette equivalent to perfect black jeans that take you from office to weekend, from lunch to dinner, from matinee to cocktail. You can be subtle or demanding.
The colours work so perfectly together so that they can be layered into something more or something less. Smokey Nudes go with blue eyes, brown eyes, yellow eyes. It is universally lovable.
