French women have many beauty secrets, it’s a well-known fact. They also have fabulous pharmacy brands and this French favourite, Embryolisse, is home to this clever little tube of cream that is not just a moisturiser, but a cleanser, primer and make-up remover too. It’s Elle Macpherson’s favourite and she looks pretty good for 51, let’s face it. It also has fans amongst makeup artists as it’s so versatile.

I was sent a tube and decided to put it to the test and found that whether I was using it as a moisturiser (it was easily absorbed and my skin felt lovely and soft) or a cleanser (it cleaned really well) it did the job effectively. Coming in a tube it’s really easy to pop into your bag when you go away as it covers so many beauty needs. It’s a great anti-aging cream too as it tackles dehydration making it great on flights when your skin gets really dry. The ingredients are natural and rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins and include stearic acid to help remove dirt and makeup and aloe to moisturise.
To use as a primer or daily moisturiser I just applied a small amount to my face and neck. To use as a cleanser/makeup remover I added a small amount to cotton wool and gently wiped away grime and makeup before following with a rinse.
I am really impressed with this simple little beauty product which is now available to women in the UK too. Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre is £13 and available from Boots.
