The other day I used some ancient nail polish remover. It had been lying around in my house for probably over a decade. It didn’t just take off my nail polish, it took off my skin – probably why it had remained unused.
The skin on my fingers was peeling so much my fingers were not working with devices which respond to the touch of a finger. I tried hand cream – useless. I tried other brands of hand cream. I tried night cream. I tried all the most luxurious body creams that exist in my extensive cosmetics closet. Nothing worked.
I was in the shop at Salon Benjamin, West Hollywood, and came across the Paul & Joe Rose Treatment Balm (£20.00). The scent is rose, apple and sandalwood. Rather delicious.
As soon as you touch it it’s all enveloping. A balmy, cashmery instant delight. And, what’s even better is it is starting to work on my peeling fingers. You can also use it on hair. I rarely use conditioner on my hair as it’s so porous and fine. It tends to make it lank and flat, so I’ve been using my new super balm on my dry ends. The result? My hair smells like a rose bouquet and the ends are moisturised in a light and lovely way.
And of course it’s brilliant for lips. An SOS beauty must-have if ever there was one.
