During the hot summer days a lot of us don’t like to wear too much makeup/foundation on the skin in the weather, especially during the humid London days we have going on. So our foundations take a temporary place in the drawer and we start to reach out for things like BB creams, which are the perfect multi-tasking products if you still want a bit of coverage, moisturisation, even sun protection – but still have a natural finish to allow your tan to glow gorgeously through your skin.
So which BB cream do you buy? Well, these have all come out of Krista’s bathroom cupboard as her favourites, so are top of the list at Beauty & the Dirt headquarters at the moment (they’ve been thoroughly tried out and tested!) ; and here’s why we love them…
La Roche-Posay Tinted BB Cream, £16.50
This one is La Roche-Posay’s first BB Tinted Cream that is specially developed for sun-sensitive skin with a high SPF 50+, UVA and UVB protection. It feels very moisturising when applied, and protects, moisturises, soothes, illuminates and unifies skin. It comes in one universal shade with adjustable micro-pigments to adapt itself to all skin tones. Ideal for normal to dry skin.
This would be the ideal holiday product, great for the beach too with it’s water resistant properties and ultra protection from the sun.
Shiseido Perfect Hydrating Cream, £29
Shiseido’s BB cream gives a bright, vibrant look to your skin that is moisturising and features an SPF 30 protection against UV damage. With a tint that comes in 3 shades, it gives skin a bright, even tone and a healthy glow. Conceals pores and minimizes the appearance of skin unevenness. This oil-free cream has a light, comfortable feel.
Vichy’s newest addition to their BB cream – with its featherlight texture and multi-action blemish balm, this BB cream treats and protects the skin and it is non-pore clogging. This product is perfect for those with oily or blemish-prone skin – as it’s velvety texture mattifies on the skin, reducing shine on the surface, whilst reducing inflammation and treating your skin at the same time. The finish of this BB cream is radiant, flawless, and provides a natural coverage. This BB has a light SPF 16 protection.
Nivea BB 5 in 1 Beautifying Moisturiser, £6
This multi-tasking formula covers imperfections such as blemishes, signs of fatigue, dark eye circles, any redness in the skin and fine lines. It illuminates the complexion, boosting skin’s natural glow. This would be a good one for normal to oily skin, as it provides a light and fast absorbing moisture for a non-shiny finish. It has a light sun protection with an SPF 10.
Vichy Ideal Soleil BB , £12
We have another Vichy BB cream, because this one is also a winner – this is for anyone with dry or sensitive skin, looking more for a tinted sunscreen product. It is a velvety texture that enhances and illuminated the skin while giving ultimate protection against sun damage with an SPF 50. The silky smooth texture effortlessly glides onto the skin, and plumps the skin with moisture, making it more soft and supple.
