Bio-Extracts are a vegan skincare brand, you might have seen them on QVC, where they are so popular they fly of the screen. Of course we had to try out the range and report back, and this is why you should take notice of them too. What’s interesting about their concept is that you can create your own skincare, a bit like a skincare lab but at home. You don’t need science goggles, unless Tom Ford makes some, then yes of course we approve.
How often do you buy skincare products then feel like your skin needs something different after a week of using it, our skin behaves differently from day to day, mine can change in a day! We do put our skin under a lot of stress daily, so it’s important to try to address what you need when you need it. This is where Bio-Extracts comes in, you choose your base cream then add a pump of what you feel like your skin needs every time you apply. This is also means that you are still using the same skincare range but a different ingredient, so you are not jumping around between chemicals and formulas with a new range each time. Your skin will really benefit from the extra TLC you are giving it and you will see results quicker.
You have the option to choose from three face creams depending on what your skin needs: normal, light (if you have oily skin) and rich (if your skin is quite dry). This will form the base of your skincare regime for you to add your Boost serums, up to 4 can be used at the same time, so you can target lots of your problems in one hit. They use an unique Multi-Lamellar system, which means they have been formulated to work in an optimum way that mimics your own skin and makes it more easily absorbed with or without the Boosts. So you can also use them on their own and still just benefit from their hydration alone.
Once you pick your cream, the fun starts of deciding what Boosts you want to use. There are nine to choose from and they all target different concerns: pore minimising, redness relief, lifting, firming, glow, anti-oxidant, anti-wrinkle. You then pump one dosage of moisturiser and mix up to 4 shots of your chosen Boost on the lid palette which can be found on the moisturiser, then you’re ready to apply.
I am really enjoying using Bio-Extracts, the time it takes to mix up is the same as you applying layers of serums and oils underneath your moisturiser. I like that they mix together really easily and your skin absorbs them perfectly, adding an SPF or applying make up over the top is so much better when you haven’t layered lots of products first. This system is perfect to use all year round and tailored for summer, winter or just when your skin needs some extra attention. The Boosts are £19.50 and will last you a while, so you can have a few on the go!
