You know it’s time to revamp your wardrobe for a new season when Bobbi Brown release a new collection. Moreover when the smoke eye gets replaced with pearlised sheen and the shimmer brick takes on a warmer tone, you know we’re getting closer to summer! This month’s Nude & Nectar Collection is no exception.
The range includes the Nectar & Nude Eye Palette (£37.50) made up of soft and infinitely wearable tones, the Apricot Shimmer Brick (£32.00), Pot Rouge in Hibiscus (£19.00) , Lipglosses in Nude Pink and Nectar (£18.00) as well as a High Shimmer Lip Gloss in Bare Peach (£18.00). Two limited edition nail polishes also feature in Nectar and Bare Peach (£11.00).
The main players in the collection are a pearlised sheen and the pink side of coral. Get into some stark colour blocking as per the Prabal Gurung SS14 look by blending the matte nude shades in the palette for an understated eye look, before patting on the limited edition Lip Gloss in Nectar and blotting to stain lips with the coral colour.
The fresh dewy glow of the SS14 beauty trends set is also achievable with this new collection. Use the shimmer brick to highlight across the forehead, along the bridge of the nose and chin, and inner corners of the eyes. Another quick trick, whispered to my by makeup artist legend Terry Barber, is to dap a little highlighter on the tip of the nose to slim your face, and on the bow of your lips and lightly in the dip of the philtrum to fill out your pout. Use your index finger to brush across the lightest colour in the Apricot Shimmer Brick and apply. Next blend the Pot Rouge in Hibiscus wherever you blush naturally across your cheeks, and dab onto lips for a youthful and prettily natural look.
As always Bobbi Brown’s pin-up girl Katie Holmes looks the picture of expertly applied makeup in the campaign shots, which themselves are another form of makeup look inspiration. Bobbi Brown herself created the look don’t you know!
