To celebrate the release of the new Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story documentary, BFI Southbank will be hosting a special Q&A screening on International Women’s Day.
The exclusive preview will follow a Q&A panel with the film’s Director Alexandra Dean and Executive Producer Susan Sarandon. The whole thing will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and Ireland so you won’t miss a thing.

The documentary is based on Hedy Lamarr’s story – known as one of the most beautiful women in the world with Snow White and Catwoman both based on her iconic look. She was famous for her performances as Ziegfeld Girl, Samson and Delilah but she was also known for her multiple marriages and affairs with the likes of Spencer Tracy and JFK, but she was much more interesting than all of that.
Hedy was an inventor too. Her pioneering work helped revolutionise modern communication with her co-invention of frequency hopping, which is now used as the basis for secure WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth.
In 2016, a series of recordings by Hedy were discovered and this is finally a chance for her to narrate her own story.
