In light of the Olympics, bronze may signify a runner-up, but on the spring summer catwalks, the shade was anything but. Instead, it harked to the sun-baked sands of far flung foreign lands with shimmering shades of burnt amber and terracotta. At Carolina Herrera and Blumarine sheer washes of barely there bronze brushed cheeks with a healthy sun-kissed glow, and at Emilio De La Morena, burnished shades, minus mascara or any hint of sheeny textures imparted a distinctly earthy and more natural look. Copper toned colours blazed across eyes at Isabel Marant and Haider Ackerman whilst models at Pucci smouldered in layers of lacquered and glossy bronze shadows.
