BROWHAUS BROW RESURRECTION

December 2, 2015

By Hannah Powling

I’ve had small eyebrows forever, and by small I mean quite fair and straight-ish. I was cursed with fine hair genes and once the 90’s and oo’s when thin was in, left me with even finer eyebrows, barely anything really.

I was aware of eyebrow tattooing from the blue and red horrors I saw during my makeup career on counter. Women who had had them block-coloured in, faded to a horrible dense shade that they wished to cover up and hide with makeup. So that was a no-go for me. I was desperate for something to do with my eyebrows but with no ideal options, I mastered the art of drawing on my brows every day, and water-resistant brow products were my best friends.

Very few got to see my brows like this…

So here’s where it gets good. I heard about the Brow Resurrection treatment at Browhaus and naturally researched it and got very excited – as it looked and sounded exactly what I desperately needed…

What is Brow Resurrection?

Brow Resurrection is exclusive to Browhaus, their signature semi-permanent treatment that has a very detailed and hair-like effect; finer than most brow embroidery techniques. Basically the answer to all your brow problems.

Mimicking natural strands of hair to give fuller, thicker and balanced brows. What makes them unique is that they use vegetable paste, to get a natural outcome whereas when you have tattooing it can fade to the undertone. With Brow Resurrection, the colour you see is the colour you go home with. They work on the epidermis layer, so the top layers of the skin and it doesn’t go any deeper – like conventional tattooing does – and this is what gives the natural looking strokes.

This treatment lasts from 8-10 months for lighter colours, but depending on how your skin reacts/heals it can last up to 2 years. This treatment is perfect for those who also want to re-work their old/poor tattooed brows too.

The Process

I went along to Brow Haus to get the treatment done by Brow Specialist Priya – who is the Brow expert at Browhaus and carries out all of the Brow Resurrections in the salon. Priya tailored the experience to me; which made me feel at ease and completely confident in her, she was lovely.

Here’s how it went..

The process – Planning, numbing and setting the colour in.

So from the top right was how Priya drew on to plan out how I wanted my eye brows to look – we came to a decision of the shape with a little tweaking here and there on my part, she was very patient! With the numbing cream on we decided on a perfect colour and to the right, the finished result! Ta da! Just kidding…

After a little more stratchy feeling here and there and a bit of redness; here is the finished result.

Just check out those thin strokes. I was so impressed with them as they look like hairs – I have eyebrows now!

Aftercare

Nice and simple. You get to take home a little treatment kit which has two products in – the Build and Fix, which helps with the healing process.

You cannot use makeup or products on brows for a good 2 weeks until they are properly healed.

I love how they are just natural to me. They are perfect and look like they’re MINE and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Without makeup I look actually normal now and it was a complete game changer regarding my makeup regime. Life has become a whole different story – I feel so much more confident.

The Brow Resurrection comes at a pricey around £625 – which includes the aftercare products and an additional follow-up appointment to really ensure the colour has gone into the skin properly which goes through the same process again. So this isn’t exactly the cheap route to go down, but it is certainly a unique and pretty technically-amazing one that’s for sure.

I completely recommend this treatment to anyone who knows the struggles of having brows that are unhappy with, whether it be fine, damaged, overplucked – you name it ! It’ll change everything. Honestly.
