We rather like a man who can rock a suit. And with the help of a collaboration between Italian fashion house Gucci and celebrated costume designer Denise Cronenberg, Robert Pattinson is now firmly placed in the ‘sharp dresser’ category.
Tomorrow sees the launch of Pattinson’s new thriller, Cosmopolis at the Cannes Film Festival. The film, in which Pattinson plays young billionaire asset manager Eric Packer, follows his 24 hour limo-journey across Manhattan. Against a backdrop of looming financial disaster, a celebrity funeral and political protests, Packer receives visitors both for business and pleasure in his car. As the encounters and the crises intensify, Packer cynically plays a gambling game with both his clients’ fortunes and his own.
For his role in Cosmopolis, Pattinson is dressed in a sleek and elegant silhouette that comes courtesy of the Gucci/ Denise Cronenberg collaboration, as he is seen in Gucci’s impeccable tailoring and signature silhouettes throughout the film.
“The concept I had in mind for Rob’s character was decided as I read the script. It would require an elegant, expensive suit, white shirt and slim tie. Rob wore the collection head to toe – I could not have accomplished this look without the help of Gucci,” Cronenberg says.
Whilst we’re rather fond of this new-look Pattinson and can’t wait to see the pics of the Cosmopolis Cannes launch, we doubt we’ll ever find a man who can rock a suit quite like Jon Hamm, even if he does come courtesy of Gucci!
