CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT: EXUVIANCE TRIO

April 29, 2016

By Chrissy Iley

I’m rather partial to Exuviance products. They have a killer eye cream and a night cream that lifts and firms while you sleep so when I heard they were taking care of the effects of the change of season on the skin I was excited to try. There were 3 products I was told I would not be able to live without. Hmm I thought, how can a skin product be something on which my life depends? And then I thought again. There are several products in my routine in which I do feel my life depends – things that I’ve discovered by trial and error, secrets I’ve been told over the years, chance buys –  for instance, the Bobbi Brown Longwear Eye Pencil in black chocolate is more long lasting than any other shade. And softer and deeper. Black chocolate always sells out first. Over the years I’ve tried a million foundations and now I only want to use Oxygenetix, not because it’s the most expensive in the world but because it’s the best. I love the way it feels on the skin. It covers everything and lets your skin breathe.  See, genius there and then. The QMS eye cream called Advance Intensive Eyecare depuffs, un-lines and categorically is best in the world. How can there be more best in the worlds I thought as I tried out my spring trio?

Chrissy can’t live without these Exuviance must-haves.

First of all the cleanser. Exuviance Age Reverse Bioactiv Wash (£37). It’s a foaming cleanser and I like the idea of its squirty fluffiness in the morning and at night. It gurgles like shaving cream. It’s fun therefore I use it. it feels creamy and gentle but has a gentle exfoliation with its Maltobionic Acid. It has botanical extracts of Aloe Vera, Chamomile and Cucumber so it feels and smells super fresh.

The serum is called Exuviance Antioxidant Perfect 10 Serum (£49). The serum concentrates on ten sources of potential damage. I love the freshness of its botanical smell. I’m not sure if I can smell the grape seed extract, the green tea extract or even the lilac but it feels good to have them on your face.

Their final product in the trio of heroes is in my best ever category. It’s Exuviance Sheer Daily Protector SPF 50 (£34). I’ve not been good with using the correct SPF face factor. I’ve got sun damage, blotches, all kind of unsightlies.  Why? Not because I don’t know I should be wearing a high SPF, not because I don’t know I’ve got pale, delicate, sensitive skin, but because I can’t stand the feel of an SPF cream. I don’t like the smell either, but most of all I don’t like its gloopy cloyingness which has the twin effect of making your skin feel greasy and dry at the same time. I don’t like its whiteness. I don’t like a cream that says it’s also a moisturiser and an SPF and a base because it doesn’t do any of these things properly. Enter Exuviance Sheer Daily. It’s nothing like any other SPF cream. It’s weightless and magically tinted to blend in with any skin tone. It contains triple anti-ageing protection, UV protection and multi anti-oxidants to neutralise environmental damage. It is gorgeous.

I have to tell you it wasn’t love at first sight because I didn’t read the bottle which says you have to shake it for fifteen seconds. You really do have to shake it. if you forget, it comes out without colour, oily and therefore not instantly penetrating. When you do shake it, it comes magically whipped to perfection, blends into your skin tone and easily into the skin and because it feels nice I’ve been using it every day in LA and for the first time no redness, burning, flakiness, no horrid brown spots. It’s a super hero product.
