These days you just cannot escape Cara Delevingne. (Not that that’s a bad thing.) Whether walking through London’s shopping districts or flipping through practically any magazine, fashion’s latest “it” girl is featured in nearly every ad and runway. Her career is quite impressive, having nabbed countless ad campaigns for brands like Burberry, Chanel, DKNY, Mulberry, and Topshop just to name a few.
She can now add “leading actress” to her already enviable resume, having landed a lead role as Margo Roth Spiegelman in the film adaptation of John Green’s bestselling novel, Paper Towns. The novel tells the story of two neighbors, Margo and Quentin. Margo asks Quentin to help her gain revenge on the people who have hurt her. When Margo vanishes, Quentin must follow a series of clues which he hopes will lead to him finding her. The film will be the second of John Green’s novels to be translated to the big screen, the first being the wildly popular The Fault in Our Stars, which premiered in cinemas this past summer.

Despite her unbelievable success as one of the top models in the world, she has been quoted saying that she wouldn’t be too torn up about leaving the modeling world for drama, calling the prospect of it “blissful,” in fact. Many have doubted Cara’s acting abilities based on her career as a model. She admits, “I knew that I was going to have to fight really hard to do it, because I had to prove myself. Most people have that stigma: she’s a model, can’t act, we don’t want you in our movie.” Miss Delevingne has managed to prove the naysayers wrong, having already impressed critics with her “striking performance” in the Amanda Knox trial dramatization, The Face of an Angel. She has also just wrapped filming for Joe Wright’s dark fantasy Pan, where she will play a mermaid. We personally cannot wait for whatever other ventures Miss Delevingne embarks on.
