Is there anything that ex Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld can’t do? Muse, mother, grandmother, stylist and editor of the hotly anticipated CR Fashion Book, Carine, as previously reported, is now launching a line of limited edition cosmetics in collaboration with MAC.
The range, which focuses on the chic Parisian smoky eye and bold brow look that has become synonymous with Carine’s signature style, is due to launch this autumn. And in true Roitfeld style, every single aspect of the collection was consulted on, from package design to the product names and the colourways.
The sexy eyed, nude lipped, bed-haired editor also appears in the collection’s black and white ad campaign, as seen above, shot by none other than Mario Sorrenti.
Although a seemingly unlikely pairing, this is exactly what MAC does to perfection. Think Beth Ditto, Miss Piggy, Iris Apfel. . somehow so wrong, but also just so right. And after a summer of super-sweet pastels and bright neons, the moody, sultry tones of Carine will be just what we need for Autumn.
