In the last half an hour, Harper’s Bazaar US have announced ex Vogue Paris editor, muse and all round style icon Carine Roitfeld as the new global fashion director for the magazine.
Bazaar have stated that Roitfeld will “produce a limited amount of editorials for the magazine to run across world wide editions”, and will collaborate with Stephen Gan, Harper’s Bazaar US’ creative director, on several stories each year starting with the March 2013 issue.
The special project is also thought to include covers of the international editions of the monthly glossy.
Roitfeld, who only recently published the debut edition of her magazine CR Fshion Book, is expected to offer her own unique and signature take on the season’s key trends.
Duncan Edwards, president and CEO of Hearst Magazines International has commented, “This collaboration marks the first time anything like this has been done and we’re very excited about what Carine will bring to BAZAAR editions around the world. She is a visionary in the fashion world and we are so happy to be working with her.”

And finally Carine herself has announced of the collaboration, “I am thrilled to be contributing to BAZAAR, a brand with a rich history of creativity, working with Stephen and a roster of talented photographers will be a wonderful collaboration and one that will give these stories a truly global audience.”
