The launch of Carine Roitfeld’s CR Fashion Book has been something of a rollercoaster ride. From reports that Condé Nast had banned a handful of models, stylists and photographers from collaborating with the ex-French Vogue stylist to the news that Terry Richardson favourite, model Kate Upton was to cover the inaugural issue (as above) being received with mixed reviews, the magazine – sorry – the Fashion Book, has finally been launched.
Carine hosted a swanky Mercedes Benz sponsored fash-bash this weekend during NYFW at the Frick Museum on the Upper East Side. Roitfeld told The Cut, “I want to do something different, more classic, after all, I am a grandma now.” And speaking of the formal black tie dress code, the stylist remarked, “It’s a bit démodé, no? But I think there’s something very chic about the long dress.”

Unsurprisingly the party itself looked like something out of a fashion editorial with swathes of models arriving to congratulate Roitfeld and celebrate the launch. Alessandra Ambrosio, Lindsay Wixon and Constance Joblanski all looked smoking hot, groomed, glossy and ready-to-party despite the demands of a hectic first few days of fashion shows. Whilst Bar Rafaeli and Catherine McNeil flouted the long dress rule, by sporting short monochrome lace dresses. Stylist and it girl Caroline Sieber managed to make a pink cardigan and full ankle length skirt look sexy and dj Leigh Lezark smouldered in an off-the shoulder fishtail creation.

Carine herself looked the picture of effortless cool in her signature black, and looked happy and relaxed accompanied by her family.
