Ever since Former French Vogue editor, Carine Roitfeld hinted at a possible new venture, we’ve been vying for more details.
Since leaving the Condenast title, Roitfeld’s styling prowess has been in high demand, she has styled campaigns for Givenchy and Chanel, collaborated with W and V magazines and most recently, assisted Karl Lagerfeld with the Little Black Jacket Exhibition. There’s no doubt that Roitfeld has the midas touch, which is why we’re so thrilled to finally hear that her new venture is in fact a magazine and is due to launch later this Autumn.
Speaking to industry insider’s WWD, Carine revealed that the publication, due to be published twice a year, will not only feature ‘fashion with a lot of freedom’ but will be more akin to a book than a magazine.
Carine added,
“I am putting a dream team together to make a magazine. It’s an ambition of mine to make a really iconic magazine that’s fresh and exciting.
“There is no value in it being in French, it needs to be international and in English. It will be something less frequent than a monthly to make it more iconic, more collectable. I want to make something really beautiful, chic, different. I have to find a new way, so I am dreaming about it and working it out.”
With Carine at the helm, we’re in no doubt that it will be exactly that – chic, different and beautiful. We cannot wait.
