You may not have to enter through a Soho sex shop, but don’t let that put you off the newly launched younger sibling of 2012’s London hotspot, La Bodega Negra, because Casa Negra is set to be equally as delicious, fun-loving and frivolous.
Inspired by its humble beginnings, Casa Negra will serve up a selection of authentic Mexican style street food, sharable ceviches, aguachiles and coctèls, as well as a range of tacos including the classic lengua (ox tongue) birria con consommé (chocolate and ancho chile rubbed lamb shoulder) and Conhiniita pibil (orange and annatto flower marinated pork shoulder steamed in banana leaf).
With acclaimed New York chef, Brad McDonald, at the head of the kitchen, a new drinks menu offering classic Margeritas (made with Casa’s house-made orange liquer and the downstairs Casa Playroom which will remain open until 2 am . . . there’s a very real chance that the Mexican restaurant will continue to bring all the sex-appeal of its’ Soho sister to Shoreditch.
