The Grand Palais in Paris was transformed into a casino for the Chanel show today, where supermodels including Kendall Jenner walked the catwalk in a series of eye-catching designs.
In a non-conventional fashion show – Karl Largerfeld’s Hollywoodification of fashion continues rather brilliantly. Instead of everyone sitting in rows watching models strut down a catwalk, Chanel hosted a casino style show with gambling tables set up. Actresses including Kristen Stewart, Julianne Moore and Lily Collins walked around the different tables.
After Stewart (who opened the show) and Moore, finished their walks, they sat at a classic roulette table with model Lara Stone as other models made their way around the casino-themed runway. Kendall Jenner closed the Chanel fashion show by walking in a white bridal suit.
Kristen Stewart opened the Chanel runway show at Paris Fashion week with slightly scruffy hair and wearing a dash of red lippie as she modelled the collection and the cigarette holder. She was the first to walk down the runway in black velvet pants and a matching collarless jacket.
Julianne Moore wore a gorgeous green velvet number.
19 year old Kendall Jenner stole the show as she walked the Chanel runway, trading her long dark locks for a edgy, slicked bob. She was dressed as the iconic Chanel bride wearing an off-white wedding suit complete with a long train.
Rita Ora was among guests at the show, sporting a plunging metallic suit jacket, and spent the duration of the show sitting with a group of A-listers at a casino table in the middle of the catwalk.
“I like that elegant moment of beautiful people going into a casino wearing jewellery,” said Lagerfeld after the show. “It’s like a fantasy.”
