This past Tuesday marked a huge transition for fashion brand Calvin Klein. After a decade of dedication to the men’s and women’s wear, Italo Zucchelli and Francisco Costa are leaving the company.
It has been an intense couple months for the fashion industry, YSL lost Hedi Slimane and now Calvin Klein has been added to the mix. Zucchelli and Costa both commented that they are looking to take charge in a “new global creative strategy” without giving any more specifics.

Rumoured replacement for the job is former Dior artistic director Raf Simons, but Calvin Klein has yet to release any sort of statement. Any decision made by the company could change New York fashion, as Calvin Klein has impressively remained in the “Big 3” for many years now (along with Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan). The company is owned by big time corporation PVH, an American clothing company that also owns Tommy Hilfiger, IZOD, Arrow, and more.
Calvin Klein will tread carefully over the next few months. They have announced that they won’t be walking the runway when their men’s collection is released in June, or for their women’s collection coming out in September.
Whatever comes next for the company remains a little unknown… A breath of fresh air means huge changes for the entire fashion industry as Calvin Klein remains a powerhouse in the designer world.
