I’ve recently become obsessed with certain items from the Chantecaille range. I’ve always loved how the make-up feels and the exquisite range of colours. They feel rich but they’re actually enhancing the world. And now more than ever, I love their bond with Africa. I love the idea that part of the money you spend on an eye colour helps the work of the lion gardens in Kenya where they work on conserving the dwindling number of lions in Africa.
I love the passion that Chantecaille have for this project and I love the limited edition Eye Palettes and lipsticks that are dedicated to animals. You can get a lipstick from the Lion collection inspired by shades of Africa and the Lion eye palette which comes with beautiful lions embossed on the colours, is gorgeous. The colours are African Topaz, Rock, a silk matt neutral grey, Ambroseli a rich burgundy inspired by the colour of earth. 5% of each sale goes to the Lion Guardians.
The Tiger in the Wild palette comes with eye shades in cream, pewter and indigo and a sheer persimmon cheek shade. The set is a work of art with a laser etched image of a Royal Bengal tiger with percentage of profits going to save tigers.

But perhaps my favourite eye palette is the Protect the Wolves eye shade trio. I love this one for many reasons. I carried around a Tom Ford limited edition Wolf eye set until all the colours were dust. I love a wolf grey and I love a woodland green. This one is a blackened green infused with Jade pearl. It comes with the image of a wolf looking at you so that you can create a smouldering wolf eye. Or if you go for the Pewtery shade (Timber Wolf) you can be quite subtle. Timber Wolf is inspired by the colour of the coat of the Timber wolves, a warm pewter infused with soft gold.

I love the texture of the Chantecaille palettes. They’re smooth, intense, blendable, subtle. Each shade can be worn alone or gloriously layered. It stays on and I love its creamy depth. The palette comes with a clever little brush that can be both sweeping and precise. I love a palette that comes with a proper brush. I’m particularly keen on wolves ever since I had a healing massage from Sinead De Hora. While having this amazing treatment, people sometimes have visions or glimpses of their guides. My guide, or at least the comforting furriness that was also fierce that came into the room, was a lustrous She Wolf. Since then I’ve always been attracted to wolf colours to try and keep some of that furry fierceness within me. And even better if you can give back to protecting the wolves themselves.
