I’ve always been a fan of Chantecaille. Not just for the amazing colours and the way the makeup feels on the skin but when I got my Lion Eye palette – beautifully textured golds and bronzes with a lion’s head imprinted on each colour, I became aware of Chantecaille’s conservation projects. In Kenya, they have lion guardians – two women who devoted their lives into conserving lions, preserving cultures. They have immersed themselves in local Masai warrior culture. They have learned how to use GPS warrior technology to track the lions and their communities. They have learnt how to respect and understand their patterns and in so doing know that is the only way to live with these amazing creatures.
The lion guardians are about protection and stopping the insane Cecil killers. A percentage of money from the lion palette was given to the lion guardians. Their newest palette is all about the gorillas and the forest. Lovely gorilla faces are imprinted into the colours in the Save the Forest eye palette (available soon). The colours are gorgeous. Mist is a peach/gold flawless highlighter. Dawn is a golden green. Bamboo a sage green and Volcano a green/brown. Together they make an instantly wonderful smoky eye.
I’d seen so many buses telling me that Chantecaille’s tinted moisturiser/foundation was the best in the world that I stopped by Liberty’s to find that they also did bronzer and blush in liquid form in a tube. The bronzer blended into the skin so gorgeously I had to have it but they were sold out because I happened to have gone on the launch of the Liberty Beauty bag – £390 worth of products free with any purchase over £180 was on offer.
The bag itself was a thing of lust – a beautiful Liberty bag filled with some travel size, some full-size stars of many of the great brands; Nars, Hourglass, Chantecaille itself and many more. I wanted the bag. I wanted the bronzer. I will be going back.
