What most reminds you of Valentine’s Day?
Those little hard heart-shaped candies. I always remember on Valentine’s Day exchanging candy with the kids in my class and typically it was always those little hearts with the messages on them. When I think of Valentine’s Day, to this day I still think of these candies.
What are your top three gift recommendations?
Well, number one, I’d say flowers. That’s the easy answer. It’s the perfect gift to give that doesn’t take a lot of effort.
Number two, I’m going to say a fragrance: Gucci Guilty Diamond. I think there’s a beautiful aspect about exchanging a fragrance because scents are synonymous with memories. If you’re walking down the street and you smell a scent, it can take you right back to a memorable time in your life, whether it’s a moment with an ex-girlfriend or a childhood event. So for me, Gucci Guilty Diamond is a fantastic gift.
The third would be something you create, as opposed to something bought. Whether it’s a drawing or a song or a poem. Something that’s from the heart that you manufactured yourself is the most personal thing you could give.
What is your favorite part about buying gifts for others?
Of course, seeing other people happy. It’s nice when you give a gift that someone else really enjoys. Honestly, for me, a fragrance is a fantastic thing to exchange – who doesn’t want a fragrance? When it comes to Valentine’s Day, Gucci Guilty Diamond is a gift that not only the other person will love, but will have a place in that person’s memory. Years down the road, that fragrance will take them back to that time and place when you gave it to them.
How do diamonds play a part in Valentine’s Day?
I think diamonds represent luxury, indulgence and class. Diamonds are certainly something that women love. So any time you can incorporate, as a man, a gift that is synonymous with all those attributes you know the other person will love it. I would challenge someone to find something that better represents Valentine’s Day, more than diamonds.
