Some of fashion’s most iconic photographs are being auctioned off next month at Christie’s London. Led by works from Helmut Newton, including his 1980 ‘Self Portrait with Wife and Models’ which is expected to fetch up to £90,000 and 1976 ’10th Floor Hilton, Paris,’ another top lot with an estimated value of £30,000 to £50,000, the auction offers an opportunity to purchase some of the more important works in the history of photography.
The auction features images of supermodel Naomi Campbell shot by David Lachapelle and Peter Lindbergh, plus a number of works by the legendary Irving Penn and Peter Beard, and a whole host of subjects including Picasso, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Francis Bacon and Andy Warhol to name but a few.
