The famous two-week long music festival kicks off tomorrow, Friday April 15th. Although we aren’t attending this year, we did our homework anyway and found out what sort of trends/events will be flooding our social media accounts.
Beauty
Forget the flower crowns, those have been exhausted for some time now, plus we think there’s a lot more creative things you can do with your hairstyle and still obtain the boho-chic look that is so sought after at Coachella. This year braids are in. French braids, fishtail braids, cornrows, you name it. We like this style because it’s beautiful, but it will also keep you cool in the California sun. We’d hate to be at the pool parties and concerts and be a sweaty mess! Step your look up even more with hair glitter, or incorporate ribbons into the braids to liven it up.
Fashion
Coachella is known for its fashionable crowds and trend-setting attendees. It’s actually my favorite part of the festival, to see what streetstyle, or in this case, festival style, is turning heads. After the revival of Adidas and other sport brands, athletic wear is in this year. We’re going to see people opting for sporty brands and trainers, while pairing them with bodysuits and bralettes. Japanese-style kimonos will be on the scene, as well as of course “90’s aesthetic” band-tees, holes and everything.
Performers
The list goes on and on as far as who will be performing at 2017’s Coachella. For a festival as grand as this one, it’s sure to have good names. Last year it was announced that Beyoncé would be a headliner at this weekend’s festival, however due to her pregnancy, she had to step down. We’re not too heartbroken though, considering Lady Gaga took her place. Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar are also headlining this first weekend. People love Coachella for it’s big names, but also for it’s wide range of performances, from rap, to pop, to folk.
Food
As if we expected anything less, Coachella’s food scene will not disappoint. We’ve already seen shots of the ever-Instagrammable dishes that are going to be offered at this year’s festival. From bottomless Poke bowls, to Mac-and-Cheeseburgers, to waffles on a stick and everything you could think of in-between. I can taste everything just by looking at the Instagrams, mmm…
Guests
Celebrities are not few and far between at Coachella. From pop stars, to supermodels, to pro-athletes, Coachella is the place to be seen. Of course, us normal folk are there too, but that’s not as exciting. Kendall and Kylie Jenner are said to be hosting a party kicking off the festival, with a party hosted by Victoria’s Secret models the next day. How do we get on the list?? It’s even been said that Katy Perry herself will be hosting an Easter brunch on Sunday in hopes of replenishing guests after a long weekend of festival-ing. The brunch is even said to feature an oxygen bar!
We know this festival is going to be a blast and we’ll be keeping up with every minute of it!
