Last night’s UK premiere of Collateral Beauty saw the cast walk the red carpet at Leicester Square. The event was streamed live on Facebook and saw almost the whole cast come together to celebrate the release of the movie.

Of course the man of the hour, Will Smith, was in attendance looking as handsome as always in a suit and tie. Speaking in front of the mass crowds gathered at Leicester Square to see the star last night, Will was in great spirits despite the heavy topic of death in the film, thanking fans for waiting for autographs outside in the cold.

Joining Will on the red carpet was co-star Naomie Harris. The English actress looked stunning in a earthy bronze frilly ensemble, with white floral detailing on the bust and a pair of white strappy stilettos. For makeup Naomi opted for bronzed cheeks, a smokey eye and a nude gloss, she was glowing.

However for me, it was Helen Mirren who stole the show at last nights premiere. The Academy Award winner was a vision in red wearing Jacques Azagury AW16. The gown featured a filly high neck collar and lace floral sleeves, it was the ultimate festive look.

Helen also opted for the most stunning pieces of silver jewellery. She had on a diamond ring and bracelet, but it was the earring that really caught our attention. The floral design of the earrings added just the right amount of sparkle to her ensemble.

During her interview on the red carpet, the actress spoke about how delighted she was that her female co-stars were all from the UK, with Kate Winslet and Keira Knightly starring alongsite her but were unfortunately not attending last nights celebrations.

But when the film ended, it was clear that people were left with mixed emotions and reviews. Some called out Will Smith for trying too hard, suggesting the actor was after an award. Others heavily criticised that using the subject – the death of a child – was used as a manipulation method to tug at audiences emotions and ultimately achieve the main goal of making a profit.

This could be perceived to be true, it’s worth pointing out that this is probably not the only film out there looking to make a profit. For me however, I’m not sure if the film will make it into my top ten but I will admit that I did end up shedding a couple of tears. Despite the negative reactions of what the film was trying to achieve, putting this aside, it could perhaps be relatable to some parents, hopefully it might even help someone.
Collateral beauty is out in UK cinemas 26th December and you can watch the full trailer here.
