Diane Von Furstenberg’s Fairytale Book

November 22, 2012

Diane von Furstenberg’s Fairytale

Diane von Furstenberg is the newest subject of fashion writer Camilla Morton’s fairytale memoir series. A twist on the classic tale The Emperor’s New Clothes, the book tells the story of two young girls – Diane (based on the designer), and an Empress, who is struggling with her new royal duties.

Although Camilla Morton wrote the fairytale story, Diane drew all the colorful and fun illustrations, as well as decided on the prints, colours and layout of each page. Morton’s popular memoir book series has also included the stories of Christian Lacroix and Manolo Blahnik.

Diane is the first woman to be featured in Camilla Morton’s series, and it seems Morton is thrilled to write her story. “Diane is an amazing woman – she is a great designer, motivator and role model,” said Morton. “Even without the fairy tale twist she is an incredible modern-day heroine and what makes her even more compelling is that none of her part of the story is make believe. Diane is a fabulous example of someone who has made her own fairy tale come true.”

Like all good fairy tales, Diane’s tale is one that inspires, reminds us to dream and teaches us that anything is possible…
