From The Hunger Games to Divergent, film has been hit by a wave of young adult novel adaptations. The common element in each: a strong heroine and dashing male protagonist. The latest to make its way to the big screen is The Maze Runner, starring the Teen Wolf sleuth Dylan O’Brien.
Dylan O’Brien is best known for his roles in the MTV television series Teen Wolf, feature film The First Time and The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson. The 22 year-old has been dating actress Britt Robertson since filming The First Time together. The truthful and funny film follows two young teens as they experience relationships, losing their virginity and coming of age.

Dylan O’Brien first aspired to be a cinematographer like his father. However, after creating and acting in multiple comedic YouTube videos, he auditioned for Teen Wolf and landed the role of Scott McCall’s best friend, Stiles Stilinski. The two, Dylan O’brien and Tyler Posey, are also close friends off screen and have quite the bromance.
Dylan O’Brien is all about being true to who you are, whether that’s funny, quirky or shy. The die-hard Mets fan said in an interview with Seventeen Magazine, ‘I just really like fun, cool, interesting, quirky girls. And sometimes you find that in 6’2” model bodies, and sometimes they’re short and brunette. All shapes and sizes—it’s really about the personality. That sounds cliché, but it’s so freaking true!’

Dylan O’Brien plays Thomas in the upcoming film, which is based on James Dashner’s science fiction trilogy due to hit cinemas in October. Appearing in the Glade from a lift in the ground, Thomas has no memory like the other boys who have come to the Glade. In the Glade the boys work to stay alive and solve the mystery of the Maze, a labyrinth of dark, moving walls and strange creatures. Things really start to change when a girl, Teresa played by Kayla Scodelario, appears in the lift and remembers Thomas. The Maze Runner film will also feature actors Will Poulter and Thomas Brodie-Sangster.

The Maze Runner is expected to hit UK cinemas 10 October 2014. In the mean time, visit the trailer to watch some upcoming clips from the film.
