Cutely clever, the service is entitled ‘Elfridges, and features a host of helpful elves dotted throughout their Oxford Street store. The elves are on hand to make the season’s hustle and bustle as stress-free as possible as well as help you find the perfect gifts.
These Santa’s helpers are however not adorable little men in jingling hats and pointy shoes. Instead they are closer to fashion sugar plum fairies. The chaps are decked out in dapper suits, and the girls in chicly festive red Vivienne Westwood dresses paired with roller skates.
They are tasked with assisting shoppers with everything from finding the perfect present, to carrying bags, hailing taxis and gift-wrapping. The Selfridges elves will also be patrolling the store to offer hot drinks, while an 80-strong merry flash-mob choir will pop up at unexpected moments to help boost shopping morale and get shoppers into the Christmas spirit.
