The Girl on the Train star Emily Blunt and author Paula Hawkins were interviewed for the October issue of The Hollywood Reporter, of which they appeared on the cover.
After the explosion of the novel last year (selling over 6 million copies and spending 88 weeks on The New York Times best-seller list), the film is one of the most anticipated of the season.

Blunt opened up about her character and dished about the expectations placed on female characters: “With so many movies, women are held to what a man considers a feminine ideal. You have to be pretty. You have to be ‘likable,’ which is my least favorite bloody word in the industry. Rachel isn’t ‘likable.’ What does that mean? To be witty and pretty and hold it together and be there for the guy? And he can just be a total drip?” Just another reason to think Emily Blunt is so awesome.

The London born actress was photographed for the cover on 17 September, with author Paula Hawkins, who begs everyone to stop with all the Gone Girl comparisons. While the novel isn’t autobiographical, she noted that, “There are always aspects of yourself in a character.”
